Sales Representative

We are a world leader in magnetic products looking to hire a driven, successful Sales Representative to work from their home in the Midwest (Chicago, St. Louis or Minneapolis area).
In this role, the successful candidate will use professional selling skills focused on meeting customer expectations and earning new business. The incumbents will use a needs based selling approach to ensure we provide our customers with products and services that meet their business needs.
The successful candidates must have knowledge of the print industry and printing processes, knowledge of various paper and vinyl substrates, excellent communication skills, and a minimum of three years of sales experience. Strong time management skills, along with good listening and telephone communication skills are also critical.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Prospect for new business.
- Call on customers at the C-Level, owner, and purchasing manager level.
- Experience selling to the print, paper advertising or direct mail industry.
- Utilize value added selling by applying questioning techniques to uncover customer needs.
- Sell within a competitive environment.
- Travel to visit customers and prospects on a regular basis (50%).
- Document customer and prospect contacts on a weekly basis.
- Attend industry trade shows as needed.
- Provide quotes to prospects and customers as needed.
- Manage and grow sales dollars within market responsibility.
- Apply Sandler Selling System techniques to grow new and existing accounts.
- Identify market trends and product needs.
- Perform project work such as Customer Competitive Analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Communications is preferred.
- Three years experience in an independent sales representative role.
- Self motivated to make required number of prospect contacts each day.
- Good problem solving skills to value add sell in a competitive environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Good time management skills that allow the individual to schedule their time to meet new business growth objectives.
- Good questioning skills that enable the candidate to accurately identify customer needs.
- Good people and communication skills that allow candidate to develop strong bonding and rapport with customer.
- Proven experience at selling both products and services.
